Whose lead are you following?

And how can you know if you're following the right one? Often times when I am writing an article, or even talking to people, I tend to forget that they don't have the same knowledge, wisdom, experience, and mindset that I have. I suppose I assume that they will understand without me having to go into great detail. And, then there are times when I over-explain things because I don't feel like I am being completely understood. I suppose it's natural to be this way...at least I hope it is, lol. When I'm in the shower my mind tends to focus on The Lord as that's a time when everything is quiet and there are no interruptions. At least that's how it is for me. It may be different for you. Anyway,

Don't wait until it's too late to start prepping!

Don't be among the many who will look back and ask themselves, "what if?" What if I had only listened when there was still time? What if I had only stocked up on food and water? What if I would have learned how to start a camp fire? What if I had learned how to grow a garden? What if I had...What if, what if, what if??? As I'm sure you've heard me say before, my mother always told me, It's better to be safe than to be sorry. And, just as my mother told me over and over and over again, I want to reiterate this message to you. I cannot express it enough. Planning for the future Most of us make plans for the future. Whether it be saving money for a vacation, unexpected car or household expenses

Why do some people refuse to acknowledge the need for prepping?

Are they merely in denial? Or is it fear? I've often wondered how some people can ignore/reject the need for prepping. I personally do not understand how anyone could ignore it or reject it. After all, my mother always taught me "it's better to be safe than sorry". Which translated in prepper terms would be, it's better to be prepared than unprepared. "By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail" - Benjamin Franklin I mean, just take a look around. The world is falling apart, including the United States. A failing economy, a gun control battle, a failing infrastructure, cyber attacks, capitalism vs. socialism, moral decline, mass shootings, battles against law enforcement, civil unrest,

It's just a blog site

And returning to my first love This is just a blog site. And this is just a blog post. Sometimes I have to keep reminding myself (quite often actually) that this is not a news site, or a magazine site, or even an actual web site. It's just a blog site, with blog articles. Not news articles. Not magazine articles. Maybe the reason I keep needing to remind myself is that the last four years of my employment before retiring was spent in a newspaper office doing graphic art design, layout, and proofreading. Maybe it's because so many blog sites out there look like news/magazine sites in today's world. But when I was given the vision for this blog site, it didn't look like all the other blog site

What are you afraid of?

And what's holding you back? It seems that so many people are afraid of being labeled as a prepper. At least in my social circle. It's like they know that they should do something to make sure they and their family are taken care of should an emergency arise, but are too afraid to take the step and actually do something about it. Are they afraid of admitting that our world is not perfect and full of rainbows and unicorns like they thought it was? Are they afraid that if they acknowledge the fact that something bad could happen to disrupt their perfect world that it may cause it to actually happen? Or are they just afraid of what others may think of them? I'm pretty certain it is more likely

A world without electronics and electricity

Could you survive it? I was reading an article the other day about how our U.S. military is planning on the possibility of an EMP attack. The headline read, "Military warns EMP attack could wipe out America, 'democracy, world order'". It reminded me of when I first started prepping a few years ago and how talk of an EMP attack was considered a conspiracy theory. I suppose it still is considered that by many even today. But, this type of article tells me that it's no longer just a conspiracy theory; that it's something we need to be prepared for. In other words, it is something that could actually happen. A quote from the article says, "While it is focused on the devastating impact an EMP hi
