My great outdoor adventure in the Ozark Mountains

And lessons learned! It was early Sunday morning that my daughter, her husband, their teenage son and I set out heading for the Ozarks. We were on our way to visit my eldest son and his family. It's about a nine hour drive, and we only had five days. So, with two days for driving, that left us three days to visit. Even though I knew we would only have three days to visit, I took my BOB (bug out bag) along just in case there was an opportunity to practice some of my newly acquired skills (acquired from online articles and videos, lol). My main purpose, of course was to visit my son and his family. Although, when you get right down to it, I just didn't feel safe and secure about leaving my BOB

We are not alone

We are a community of like-minded people I received a very uplifting and encouraging email from a dear friend this morning. A friend that I have not ever met/seen face to face. She has been a Godsend to me! (And she should know who she is as she is the only one that corresponds with me about my blogs, but for the sake of confidentiality, I will not mention her name here.) Believe it or not, writing the articles for this blog are not an easy thing for me to do. First of all, I am not a writer or an author. The very first article I wrote for this blog was the first I had ever written. Secondly, I am in constant battle with the enemy over this blog site and the mission I am on here. Why? Becaus

The time is at hand: Will you heed the warning?

I was reading some comments on a YouTube video that I was watching today. The comments were talking about "bugging out" vs. actually moving away from the city. When all of a sudden, the words, "When you see the abomination of desolation" flashed in my mind. Of course, I knew that scripture is referring to the End Times. So, I looked it up and read it. Matthew 24:15 & 16, When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: (KJV) Wow. Talk about a revelation! You see, the video was of an older gentleman who was living in the mountains.

Have you ever just had an "off" week?

Lessons learned and applying them This week has really been an "off" week for me, and I haven't really accomplished much of anything. First of all, trying to get back into the swing of things from my short vacation the week before. Then, trying to go through everything I learned about a more self-reliant lifestyle while on vacation; and trying to remember them, lol. Lastly, I had a doctor's appointment because of some abnormalities in my blood pressure readings at my last visit. Getting back into the swing of things after vacation was hard because not only was I exhausted from the trip and all that we had done, but it was really hard to even want to be here after being there. Truth is, I wan

Three mushroom clouds in the air

What would you do? My son was telling me about a recurring dream he had. He said he looked out the window and saw three mushroom clouds in the near distance. That’s all he could remember, but it got me to thinking. I wondered what I would do if I looked out and saw mushroom clouds. Would I be prepared? I sat down and scribbled some things on paper that I may need in case of such an occurrence. Things I asked myself What would be your first reaction to a mushroom cloud? Do you have a plan in case something like this ever happens? How would you reach your loved ones if the power was out and phone lines were jammed? Do I have enough food, water, or even clothes? I kept thinking of things I woul

Should Christians be prepping?

Won't the Rapture happen first? Not for the faint of heart I've heard many Christians say things such as, "I don't need to be a prepper because the Lord will provide" or, "Christians don't need to prep because we won't be here, the Rapture will happen before anything gets that bad". When they say these things, they are usually speaking about what preppers refer to as SHTF (Stuff Hits The Fan). But, as Christians, we know that they are referring to The Great Tribulation spoken of in the Bible. When I hear people say these things, I can't help but thinking, "have you even read the Bible?". So many of us trust our pastors and teachers enough to just take their word for it. I mean, after all, th

Wormwood: What does it mean Biblically?

Wormwood, abomination of desolation, the hour is upon us! In my Bible reading today I was led to three scriptures. First, I wrote them down, along with what stood out the most in my mind about them. Then, I started to write them out as I thought I would share them with my Christian Prepper Gal Facebook Group. Well, that led me to thinking I should share it as a blog. So, here it is. I started out by reading Amos, Chapter 5, and this is what stood out to me: Amos 5:7, "Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,". Which lead me to search "wormwood" and this is the scripture I found: Rev. 8:10-11, "And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from he
