It's only Tuesday and it's already been a busy week!
This week I am trying something completely new. I'm actually creating a vlog for YouTube! I've been thinking about it for a few weeks now. Knowing it would be easier to show you my dehydrating experiments/experiences than to write about them. I've thought about how much more helpful it would be for you to see how to do it rather than read about it.
Around two weeks ago I received an order from Amazon which included a selfie stick/tripod for my cell phone. I've been thinking about doing a video pretty constantly since that arrival. So, I went to YouTube and set up a channel for Christian Prepper Gal. I researched some video editors to use, and found just the right one for me.
With that in mind and knowing I needed to dehydrate some frozen broccoli, I jumped right in! Yesterday I actually filmed myself throughout the process of prep and dehydration of that very same broccoli. That's right! I did it! It seems that first step is always the hardest. I don't know why I put if off for so long; it was actually kind of easy to do. In the vlog you won't see my face because my counter space is so small and cluttered, so I just focused on the actual preparation of the broccoli. I do hope to say "hi" to you in the next video, but this one just kind of happened sporadically and I didn't think to do so.
I've been working the last two days editing the video. Because I filmed it in segments it seemed best to get started on the editing right away; while I was waiting for the broccoli to dehydrate. I didn't plan on doing it that way, but I'm pretty sure that the Lord knew that would work best for me!
So, I didn't get an article written for this week yet, but I will have a vlog up on YouTube within the next day or so. I will post on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest once the vlog is live to let you know. I will also send out an email to my blog members and email subscribers.
Wow, I never ever even saw myself as having a blog site, much less becoming a YouTube vlogger. I'm just following the Lord's lead in these two endeavors because it's not something I have ever even desired. I've always had a heart for helping others though, and this is one way that I can do that.
I'm just so excited!! And, I hope you will be too :) I will be vlogging all kinds of food related things...dehydrating (of course), how to properly store your dehydrated foods for long term storage, making MREs, canning, etc., and maybe even eventually some survival techniques. I will also be open to suggestions. I don't know everything there is to know about prepping and survival, but I am willing to find out how to do it if I don't already know. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or questions feel free to let me know. You can contact me via Facebook Messenger, Twitter, my contact form (on my About page) or by leaving a comment below. I will respond to you as quickly as possible.
Until next time...happy prepping, and God bless!
P.S. I almost forgot! I've added a "Shop" page to the blog site. I don't get any commissions or rewards if you buy any of the products, I just wanted to make it easier for you to find some of the things you might be needing for your prepping needs.
