One could definitely say I am a bit of a prepper and have always leaned in that direction. This is mainly because my mother raised us almost alone for many years while my dad was in the Navy serving his country. I'm in my late 70's and in my elementary school days a miliary family, not living on base, didn't have much except the love of Jesus and family. Thanks to my mother, I learned that keeping a stock and having a garden was important. I learned to sew, and thanks to the educational system, at that time, cook quite well. In time I taught myself to knit and spin, which I still do a lot. Well before the pandemic I embarked on water-bath canning and dehydrating in a small way. Now I have jumped into the rabbit hole with both feet and love it. I'm still not pressure canning as I have an electric stove that I really don't trust but I'm building up my courage to try it soon. I'm always trying to learn new things. I could go on, but it would be boring and time consuming, as I said I'm in my late 70's. LOL
